My Story

From the moment I could remember I have always loved animals and knew I wanted to work with them in any way, shape or form. This is shown to be true by the life I have led!

When I was younger I had done work experience at a veterinary clinic, volunteered for separate cat and dog rescues and I now volunteer for a parrot rescue in my spare time. During lambing season I was out helping for 4 years! After I left high school (having had a love for biology due to the parts where animals were discussed) I found myself studying the HNC and HND Animal Care where I further lengthened my knowledge on all kinds of species. I also have experience working in pet nutrition working with a variety of cat and dog breeds and helping the owners find the right diets for their beloved family members. My life has always been centred around animals.

My first dog after moving out of my parents house was a rescued German Shepherd. She had a variety of medical health and behavioural problems which forced me to throw myself into learning all about dog behaviour, health and body language. My knowledge grew fast as I was determined to give her the best life possible and the only way to do that was to keep learning and keep improving. We did a lot together, from hiking to even flyball!

After she passed I opened my doors to a beagle pup, also known as the “untrainable breed” (or so I’ve been told). Though he was a difficult puppy he has shaped up to be a brilliant dog with such eagerness.

I also share my home with my parrots, majority of which are rescues/rehomes, and my cats.

In my free time I am finding myself constantly on the move. Either training for agility or doing some man-trailing (sort of  search and rescue training!) with my beagle, Noah, or out flying with my parrots in a type of training called Free Flight. And on those really nice days where I have no other plans? I’m off exploring new areas!

Noah

Executive good boy

Noah joined our family in January 2024 and ever since then life has been sheer chaos - but the good kind! He is a mental boy who loves nothing more than rolling in anything he can find and adventuring.

This beagle is not a couch potato! He competes in agility, goes out hiking and adores mantrailing.

Nimue

the heart of the team

We sadly lost Nimue (Nim for short) in December 2023. She was only 3 years young. Nim was a spicy girl who loved her small circle of dogs. Her favourite activity was going out for new adventures. She enjoyed the little things in life like sunbathing in the sun or having a good game of tug.

Finnian, Ezra and Elijah

Pest Control

Within our home we also have 3 cats of various age and size! They all have their personalities and are absolutely adorable. From the food thief, to the noisy shadow, to the one in braincell deficit - our house is never boring!

The flock

Birds eye view supervisors

Needless to say, our home is never quiet. I am a slave to 8 parrots who definitely rule the roost. From cockatiels to macaws the fun, and mess, is never-ending.

These birds are not stuck in cages though. They are trained to fly outdoors freely and return on command!
